The Man on the Mountain Top
What matters most is how well you walk through the fire
This is a feature film I co-wrote and directed. Shot on location at a fire lookout tower in the Montana woods, we battled weather, budgetary restraints, lack of electricity and other logistical nightmares, making it an incredibly humbling, challenging and unforgettable experience. Currently, the project is in the long and arduous post-process.
The film tells the story of Richard, a volunteer fire lookout slowly dying from an undisclosed illness. Over the course of a summer, he's forced to come to terms with his shortcomings, his past failures and the disappointment of never achieving much in his life all while battling the supreme isolation of the Montana wilderness.
